The ultimate Red Line bakery crawl

You already know we love a good MBTA food crawl. See: The GLX, Blue Line, and Red Line’s Braintree branch. And with new bakeries popping up around Cambridge seemingly every week, we asked ourselves: Could we do a Red Line bakery crawl?

The answer? A resounding yes. Here’s everywhere we went: 

ALEWIFE

🍞 Grab a fresh sammie from Iggy’s Bread. A 20-minute walk from the Alewife T stop separates you from Iggy’s, arguably THE bread institution in Boston (you’ve likely already eaten a sandwich with their bread as they supply tons of local shops). The IRL bakery is tucked away on an unassuming residential street, where the fresh bread smell will guide to the front door. 

😋 What to order: 

• Stop in at 11 a.m. for a fresh sandwich or pizza (menu changes daily)

• Their perfectly flaky pecan sticky bun

• This soft pretzel I inhaled on my walk back to the T
