New number, who dis? Oh, you know, just Boston.com and Boston mag back again with our monthly roadmaps to the most exciting new openings around the city. You got five minutes?
These are the reservations we’re sprinting for:
🏮 Kowloon Tiki on the Beach, Revere. You know her, you love her, and now you can enjoy this Route 1 icon just a seven-minute walk from the Blue Line!!! Kowloon’s tiki-forward little sister just opened up on Revere Beach, and she’s serving all the usual suspects like the pu pu platter and garlicky Saugus wings. But you’ll also find new tropical bites on her Tiki Hut menu, featuring lots of pineapple, tuna, and … spam. Lowkey, a mai tai on their patio could heal us.
🍽️ Things to try:
Spam musubi
Seared tuna bites with sweet soy and Sriracha
Pineapple upside down cake
🍕 Sugar’s Hot Pizza, Seaport. New slice alert! This NY-style pizza shop just steps away from its comfort-food sibling, Stubbys, is keeping things simple with a menu of ’za, sammies, soft serve, and a handful of other bites. Expect all the classics like pepperoni and cheese, along with some ~trendy~ toppings like vodka chicken, burrata, and of course, hot honey. A crunchy bite with zero flop? We’re in.
🍽️ Things to try:
Sugar’s slice with burrata, basil, and parmesan
Hot Stuff slice with hot honey, capicola, jalapeños, and red onions
Chopped chicken Caesar sub
🥗 Bey, South End. Imagine: Candlelit dinners, chic stone walls, and … an entire fish. The family behind Nicole’s Pizza and West Roxbury’s Al Wadi launched a bold menu of elevated Lebanese cuisine at Bey. The cold and hot mezze look like the stars of the show, with all your faves like labneh, grilled octopus, and pan-fried halloumi. We’re equally obsessing over their drinks with fun flavors like avocado, honeydew, tomato, and apricot.
🍽️ Things to try:
Grilled whole branzino
Hummus, the “Bey Way,” with beef tenderloin, pine nuts, pomegranate molasses
Tabbouleh Negroni
🌆 Foxglove Terrace, Allston. This might be our new girls’ night spot. From the team behind Comfort Kitchen and Ama at the Atlas, Foxglove is a swanky new rooftop bar and restaurant at the Atlas Hotel that boasts Southeast Asian and new American small plates (with a side of skyline views). But the main headliner here is their creative cocktails, which Boston magazine called “mind-blowing.”
🍽️ Things to try:
Short rib ssam
Oysters and pearls with caviar
Forest bundles with mushroom dumplings

Quick & dirty headlines

🥵 The week is going to feel … sticky. Like, borderline heat wave sticky. The weather will start out gorg this week, then temps will crank into the high 80s and low 90s from Wednesday onwards. (Here are some pools and splash pads for ya.) The million-dollar question: Will it rain? Probably, but it will be toward the weekend, per usual. And though it might not seem like it, this is Boston’s lowest year-to-date accumulated precipitation. So let it pour … just on a weekday, please!
🤫 These candidates aren’t putting their mouth where their money is. Gov. Maura Healey and the other two candidates, Mike Minogue and Brian Shortsleeve, have advocated for government transparency — but all three won’t show their tax returns to the Globe. Why might these be important? These docs could provide insight on their personal wealth (which is *a lot*), properties, tax amounts, and any conflicts of interests. They all had excuses, of course, but strangely enough, Healey had previously released her tax records when running for AG.
👀 The Bunker Hill Monument is getting the Trump treatment. Translation: The National Park Service is planning a “routine exhibit refresh,” according to a spokesperson, where it will be removing quotes about suffrage, immigration, and slavery. The goal? Strip historic sites of anything “in a negative light,” per the Trump administration. And folks like Gov. Healey and Sen. Ed Markey are not happy about it as many quotes are from famous figures, showing their perspectives of the Revolutionary War.
🎉 Somerville is staying up past its bedtime for the World Cup. The city just launched a policy that lets restaurants and bars keep their doors open until 3 a.m. for the World Cup (woo!). But note: They can still only serve booze until 2 a.m. Somerville businesses have to send a request in advance to extend their hours, but they can do it for as many days as they'd like between June 11 to July 19. Cheers!
ONE LAST THING
A historical baddie

Marquis de Lafayette just became TikTok famous. Or, at least the guy dressing up as him did.
Meet Miles Taylor, a Freedom Trail tour guide for the last eight years who’s been portraying Lafayette, a French military officer who joined George Washington’s army.
Someone posted a short clip of him in costume over Memorial Day weekend strutting downtown on his way to work, and it went VIRAL.
“Oh his strut IS that powerful,” one commented. And the comment section was nothing short of Boston Tea Party jokes, love for the city, and “Marquis de Lafay-ATE.”
And people apparently like his tours as much as his strut. One user even commented about his tour on his TikTok account (@lafayetteinboston): “It was FABULOUS!! He does a fantastic job keeping things fun and interesting for all ages. Highly recommend him!!”

👠 Thanks for reading! We just know Miles would have crushed Miss J’s runway challenges.
💜 Special shoutout to today's sponsor, the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, for supporting local journalism and bringing culturally rich experiences to our city.
