In-person sports betting has been live in Mass. for over a week. But you probably didnā€™t hit the casinos when it kicked off on a ā€¦ Tuesday. So if you want to put your money where your mouth is this Super Bowl Sunday, hereā€™s what you need to know:

šŸ™‹ Who can bet? Anyone 21 and older. Also, you canā€™t use credit cards to bet.

šŸ’ø Where can you bet? Only in-person at the sportsbooks at Encore Boston Harbor (WynnBET), MGM Springfield (BetMGM), and Plainridge Park Casino (Barstool).

Theyā€™re offering some Super Bowl specials, too. Encore is offering a Big Game Giveaway for Wynn Rewards members that will be drawn on Sunday (cash and Pats tickets are up for grabs), and MGM Springfield is hosting a Super Bowl party from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, where all guests in attendance will get a generous goodie bag.

And if you donā€™t want to spend your whole day at the casino, Encore has sports betting kiosks in the parking garage, so you donā€™t even have to leave your car.

šŸˆ Who should you bet on? I canā€™t tell you that. But, if you like making data-driven decisions, 538ā€™s NFL Predictions currently give the Chiefs a 57% chance of winning it all.

šŸ† Not a football fan but still want to bet on something? You can still bet on basically all other professional sports, and even some non-sporting events like the Academy Awards and Emmys, too. But high school sports and in-state college sports (unless in a tournament) are off the table. Hereā€™s a full list of what you can and canā€™t bet on.

CITY

Quick & dirty headlines

āœ‹ Donā€™t file your taxes just yet! If you were one of the 3 million Mass. taxpayers who got that little extra tax refund last year (thanks to Chapter 62F), hold off on filing. The IRS is still figuring out whether that refund is considered taxable income (sad) and hopes to provide more clarity as soon as next week. Already file them? Donā€™t file an amended return just yet. Amended returns have been caught up in the backlog, leading to processing delays, so the IRS recommends just waiting it out until further instructions are given.

šŸ’ƒ Free tampons and birth control for all? The city of Boston is in the midst of preparing to launch a pilot program offering free menstrual products in all city-owned buildings. But some city councilors are looking to take this program one step further by offering free birth control and emergency contraception, too. The councilors noted that there are 70,750 women in Suffolk County categorized as ā€œin needā€ of publicly funded contraceptives and supplies, and pointed to schools, like BU, which recently started stocking Plan-B in campus vending machines.

šŸ¤” Is winter ā€¦ over? While it would be foolish to place a bet on winter ending early in New England, ā€œthe odds of deep snow and prolonged cold are rapidly vanishing,ā€ according to meteorologist Dave Epstein. And thereā€™s plenty of data supporting that when winter starts mild and without a ton of snow, it tends to end mild without a ton of snow. Sound familiar? The next potential cold pattern could happen at the end of February or beginning of March ā€” itā€™s still too early to know for sure.

šŸ•An iconic NYC pizzeria is coming to Mass. Greenwich Village classic Joeā€™s Pizza is officially moving into the Milk Bar space in Harvard Square. Owner Joe Pozzuoli plans to open up shop in the next six months and hopes to stay for the long haul. The location will have about 30 seats and al fresco seating in warm weather. The days of New York transplants complaining about not being able to find a true New York slice in Mass. are numbered.

ONE LAST THING

Itā€™s the Super Bowl ad weā€™ve all been waiting for: Ben Affleckā€™s Dunkinā€™ spot.

Dunkinā€™ posted a teaser for its first ever Super Bowl ad on Instagram, with the tagline ā€œSomethingā€™s Ben brewing.ā€ The rumors are true!

Sources told Entertainment Tonight and People that both Affleck and Jennifer Lopez will appear in the ad, but Dunkinā€™ didnā€™t address their role in the commercial. Last month, the pair were at Dunkinā€™ locations in Revere and Medford, leading to the initial speculation that they would feature in the commercial.

ā˜• Thanks for reading! Perhaps Ben will look a little more chipper in this Dunkā€™s commercial than he did at the Grammys.
