Is that โ€ฆ a breeze we feel?! Perhaps, a weekend with beautiful weath โ€” sorry, we wonโ€™t jinx it! Weโ€™ll just pray and pencil these events into our cals.ย

Hereโ€™s whatโ€™s going down:ย

๐Ÿฟ Butter your popcorn for the week. Watch back-to-back-to-back features at the Roxbury Film Festival, a nine-day event starting June 18 that celebrates films by and for people of color. Want more? The week after is filled with virtual screenings and panels.ย

๐Ÿ’ Refresh your sports merch. Add some cute new drip to your Bruins and Celtics collection with this *massive* sale (up to 80% off!) June 18-20 outside TD Garden.ย

โšฝ Party with the Tartan Army. Any bar with kilts = a hell of a good time. Be ready to scream-sing at the screen for Scotlandโ€™s match against Morocco on June 19 at Roundhead Brewingโ€™s Summer of Soccer watch party. Or head to Inman Squareโ€™s throwdown, featuring free food and face paint for the game.ย

๐Ÿงบ Jam out at the Juneteenth cookout. Grab a friend, bring a picnic blanket, and head to Franklin Park for this annual Juneteenth community celebration on June 20.ย

๐Ÿงœ Play mermaids with your pals. Channel your inner โ€œH2Oโ€ at the dozens of public pools that will open June 20 across the state, like Veterans Memorial Pool in Cambridge and the Reilly Memorial Pool in Brighton.

๐Ÿ–ผ๏ธ Stroll the MFA foโ€™ free. The museum is offering free admission to its exhibits on June 19 for Juneteenth AND June 20 to celebrate its new American art galleries for the 250th. (But JSYK, the hot dog historical figures will not be on display there โ€ฆ yet โ€ฆ)

๐Ÿ’ช Add this free sculpt class to your summer workout plan. Lock in on your fitness goals with Flight Houseโ€™s free classes at their new Charlestown location. The best part? Theyโ€™re EVERY Saturday.

๐Ÿ›๏ธ Rock the block with a shopping spree. Select is shutting down Harvard Square on June 20, and FYI, this is not your typical block party. Think: Vintage vendors, live jazz, photobooths, games, and much more. Itching for more thrifts? Check out Junkyardโ€™s market in Fenway the same day.ย

๐Ÿฝ๏ธ Go on a globetrotterโ€™s food crawl. First stop: The Diaspora Food Festival on June 20. This menu is stacked with everything from Cape Verdean soups to jollof rice. Next stop: Head to the Asian Food Festival for your faves like pork skewers and mango sticky rice.ย

๐ŸŽถ Turn up for anotha porchfest. Every neighborhood wants in on the porchfest craze, and Fenwayโ€™s up. Soak in the tunes all the way from Symphony to Lansdowne on June 20.

CITY

Quick & dirty headlines

๐Ÿป PSA: You can cheers your beers for another hour! FINALLY: Nearly 200 bars across Boston have been approved to extend last call into the wee hours of the morning through July. A whopping ~130 of them are open โ€™till 3 a.m., with more to come on a rolling basis. See the full list of bars here. But with the way the Tartan Army is draining the cityโ€™s beer reserves, these bars better get ready for the long nights ahead. Just remember: the T will still only be running until 2 a.m. on match days โ€ฆย

โ›ด๏ธ Save the Harbor is about to be your โ€œfriend with a boat.โ€ Imagine: Golden hour views on the horizon, wind in your hair, and โ€ฆ no dimes dropped? Where do we sign?! You can now take a handful of free cruises around the harbor this summer, thanks to the folks at Save the Harbor. Wanna make a day out of it? Book one of the Sunday cruises to Spectacle Island for beach vibes, hiking, and more. But make sure to mark your calendars โ€” registration opens three weeks before the date!ย

๐Ÿฆ Bostonโ€™s favorite sweet spots are scooping for duty. Letโ€™s plan out your next ice cream crawl now: Starting June 20, L.A. Burdickโ€™s Brookline location will be slinging scoops, and the flavor lineup looks GAS. Think: Apricot elderflower, honey caramel truffle, and moscato butter. Next, head to Fenway to try Matcha Maikoโ€™s new mango sticky rice parfait. And for the palate cleanser, try this new limonada sherbet from Honeycomb, inspired by the popular tart and creamy Brazilian bev.

ONE LAST THING

RO! RO!

Image: Stan Grossfeld/The Boston Globe.

Watch out Tartans, thereโ€™s a new soccer army in town. Norwayโ€™s Viking Army is now taking over the city โ€ฆ well specifically, our escalators.ย

Enter: The Viking Row. This is a classic Norwegian soccer tradition where fans sit down, lean forward, and pull back like theyโ€™re rowing and chanting in perfect unison. So they started doing it in the most obvious of places: the escalators at TD Garden and South Station.

But whether itโ€™s on an escalator, in the stadium stands, or on the streets of Boston, these fans look like a well-oiled machine. And the energy is not slowing down after Norway beat Iraq in their first World Cup match.

Bostonโ€™s reaction? HYPED. Someone commented: โ€œThis confirms what I had long suspected: the Vikings never left us and are alive and well.โ€ย

Just plz donโ€™t get your flags caught in the escalator โ€ฆย ย

๐Ÿ’œ Special shoutout to todayโ€™s sponsor, Lexus Broadway in Boston, for supporting local journalism and reminding us that the best nights out usually involve a standing ovation. โ€œThe Great Gatsbyโ€ is also sponsored by Harvard Pilgrim Healthcare.

๐Ÿ–๏ธ The results are in: Most B-Siders have Ogunquit on their bucket list. And this cute Maine beach town is B-Side Certified (even in the fall). One echoed Kristiโ€™s rec: โ€œPiano bar is an absolute must!!โ€
