🥧 On your marks … Get set … BAKE! Bake Club Boston’s sweet treat meet-up literally sells out like hotcakes. So they set aside a handful of spots to its great pie off on June 27 just for B-Siders. Translation: Grab your tickets ASAP!

The Globe literally ate with this list. Enter: “Best of the Best,” a.k.a. the Boston Globe’s guide to the greatest restaurants, shopping, events, and more around Boston. From bagels to breweries, all 300 of these spots were handpicked by journalists and trusted correspondents. 

Here are some of our main takeaways:

🍦 Cambridge’s ice cream game is ELITE. With beloved creameries like Honeycomb, Christina’s, Toscanini’s, and New City, it’s no surprise that most of the Globe’s ice cream picks have Cambridge digs. But more under-the-radar spots like Forge Baking Co. in Somerville, Delini Gelato in Roxbury, and The Ice Creamsmith in Dorchester, still got some love. 

☕ Boston runs on more than just Dunkin’. Between coffee legends like George Howell, Caffe Vitoria, and 1369 Coffee House, we already know the region brews a mean cup. And plenty of newer cafes are making a splash, like Yego Coffee in Somerville and Little Wolf, a North Shore staple that just opened in Seaport last year.

🧁 These bake shops are B-Side Certified. Kelly LOVES the chocolate brioche from Michette, half moons from Lyndell’s, egg tarts from Ho Yuen, and pretty much every baklava from Yafa. Plus, don’t forget to go to Sofra and get Emily’s faves like the date turmeric cinnamon and almond rose cake.

🤑 These sub-$25 meals are no joke. Did you know there’s still a breakfast sandwich for under $5? Neither did we *adds Evergreen in JP to our Beli*. That might be the best deal we saw on this list, but these recs feature any and every cuisine you’re in the mood for, from baba ghanoush at Amba to arepas from Viva Mi Arepa.

🛍️ Our thrifting scene is small but mighty. We all know of Garment District, Goodwill, and SoWa … which BTW, did make the “Best of the Best.” But if you’re looking for niche finds, you’ll probably have luck at Blue Bandana Relics in Somerville, which gives Maine cabin vibes, and 40 South St. in JP for ’70s statement pieces. Another hidden gem: The Thrift Shop of Boston in Roslindale for clothes, kitchenware, vinyl, and the works.

🍻 We’re one step closer to 3 a.m. PBRs, people! Remember that 3 a.m. last call proposal? House lawmakers unanimously approved it. The goal is two-fold: to cash in on the tourist boom this summer, and as a test to see what a last-call extension would look like. So what now? If it passes the Senate, cities and towns can opt to extend one hour past closing, from June 8 through July 31. They can also set their rules about which businesses can participate and designate public consumption zones. But bartenders are skeptical of how this will play out … 

☔ This weekend weather is giving us 2025 flashbacks. In classic Boston fashion, we’re seeing gorgina weekdays and buckets of rain on the weekends. And it’s been going on like this for 13 weeks … in a ROW. Why? 1. A ~wavy~ jet stream bringing colder air from the north. And 2. The recent heat created more moisture in the atmosphere. So … will we see a dry June weekend? Probably … Hopefully … at least once? 

🚗 Park in this lot lawn for the World Cup. We remember this drill from the Eras Tour all too well … With FIFA selling parking passes at $175 a pop, some local residents are offering their own lawns as alternatives. This practice is technically banned in Foxborough, but being only a mile away, some Walpole locals are taking full advantage of applying for stadium event licenses. One man plans to have 26 spots, priced at $100 per car. For all seven games, he could make more than $18,000! 

🤩 Two hot new bombshells (hangouts) entered the villa (Boston). The Lawn on D just got a fresh green facelift and gave itself a new name, The Grove. Think: Lush greenery, cabanas, live music, and a menu packing poké bowls, watermelon frosés, and s’mores martinis. In the mood for carbs on the go? Curb your pasta cravings FAST at the Presto Pasta window in the North End. Just pick your pasta shape, sauce, and toppings, and voila! 

🤠 Giddy up to your next girl dinner. Hunter’s new cowgirl dinner deal is what dreams are made of: Steak frites + your choice of side salad = $30. Only available on Mondays!

What would you do if 36 lunches showed up on your front porch? Well, this woman — and the rats that would sniff it out — had been getting misplaced deliveries for YEARS (literally everything from ice cream cake to a McDonald’s Coke). 

Why, you may ask? Frumie L. Burns wrote for Brookline News how her address is nearly the same as Brigham and Women’s Hospital. But one was Brookline and the other was Boston. To make it worse, they were less than one mile away from each other. And Google Maps never got it right. 

Frumie and her husband tried their best to redirect delivery drivers to the hospital. In many cases, the two would quickly bring it over themselves, especially if it was flowers. 

It got so bad that the couple even tried to change their address officially. But finally, Frumie’s husband wrote a lengthy complaint to Google Maps and DoorDash … and so far, it’s been a few weeks without a wrong delivery. Fingers crossed!
